MINISTER OF EVANGELISM
Buford church of Christ is a mission-minded congregation that not only looks to the foreign fields, but the local fields in our community. As of June 1, 2018, Ben Hogan was hired to assist in our congregation’s efforts to evangelize Gwinnett County and surrounding areas. Ben grew up in Athens, Alabama attending the West Hobbs Street church of Christ. At the age of nine, Ben was baptized into Christ and preached his first sermon. Since then, he has known that he wanted to preach the gospel. He is engaged to be married to Jencie Watson on September 29, 2018.
He received his Bachelor of Arts in Bible from Freed-Hardeman University with Magna Cum Laude honors in May of 2018. Throughout his college years, Ben was a leader in his college Social Club, Chi Beta Chi, and served as Men’s Chaplain for a semester. Ben participated in four summer internships in the summers 2014-2017, preparing him for full-time ministry. The first two internships were preaching internships at the Buford congregation under the tutelage of Scott Harp. The third internship was another preaching internship with the Walnut Street church of Christ in Dickson, TN under the tutelage of Steve Baggett. The last internship was back at Buford as a youth intern under the tutelage of Jeremy Pate.
Ben has preached God’s Word at many summer series throughout the Southeast, at camps, retreats, gospel meetings, and during many foreign mission trips abroad. Ben is here to help equip our members with the skills to become soul winners for the Lord.
Our goal at the Buford congregation is to make our members realize every single day is a “mission trip,” and that we do not have to get on a plane to enter the mission field. Every day is to be spent winning souls for Christ, whether that is through a foreign mission trip, or through every-day life at home.
