Men’s Ministry

ABOUT OUR MEN’S MINISTRY

Come and join the men of the Buford congregation as we glorify God. Our focus is to help all men to commit to Christ’s authority in the church, their home, career and community. We offer many opportunities for men to come together for Bible study and fellowship.

“And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” -Ecclesiastes 4:12

Band of Brothers

Men age 18+ are invited to join us for Bible Study. Group participants are experiencing some of the same issues in life. We talk openly as we discuss different Biblical concepts. Breakout groups allow us a smaller setting to discuss the topics further. Learn and share along with men you have casually met, in a casual setting. Strengthen yourself and others to be leaders and workers in God’s church. Make new friends, encourage each other and become part of the Band of Brothers. Join us the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month. Various men teach and lead the discussion. We meet in the Upper Room off of the top parking lot. Questions: Wayne Johnson

SEEKING A LIFE THAT COUNTS – By Scott Gleaves

Ask anyone what his goal is in life and you will almost always hear, “I just want to be happy.” But there are some problems with that answer. We all like feelings of pleasure, enjoyment and satisfaction. But they don?t last. They are just feelings – and feelings are fickle. They change with our circumstances. So what do we do? We could give up and scream, “It’s all meaningless!” Or perhaps we could shift our focus and reconsider what we are seeking and where we are finding it. Centuries ago the Preacher wrote a piece of wisdom literature called “Ecclesiastes.” This wise man faced the exact same challenges we do today – how to find meaning in life when everything seems to be meaningless. And he found it. Join G. Scott Gleaves on a study of this Old Testament book that holds the key to finding peace and contentment in modern life. You really can find true happiness – you just have to look in the right place.
